Christmas Message

Merry Christmas to all that may find yourselves visiting here on Em's site. We have so many thoughts to share but they seem to find themselves all jumbled and we have wrote and erased and wrote some more and erased again. And we find ourselves remEMbering a poem that was written and read out loud to our family on Christmas Eve of 2005. It was our first Christmas without our Em and only 2 painful months since her Homecoming. It was written and read to us by Bob Baker, a dear friend of ours and dad to Traci, one of Em's FarOut volleyball teammates. The Baker family is one that God definitely had His hand in our friendship because words can not describe the depth of our friendship. This poem continues to be out and displayed in our home not only at Christmas but everyday. Bob was able to put into words what our heart felt then and continues to feel now. This Christmas message is definitely about gifts. The gift of Em, the gift of life, the gift of friends and family, the gift of Hope and the gift of Christ born so that all may come to know Him and live... now and in Heaven. So for this Christmas message we would like to share with you this precious poem and may all who read this remEMber the "gifts".

A DIFFERENT KIND OF CHRISTMAS

IT'S A DIFFERENT KIND OF CHRISTMAS THIS YEAR.
MERRY CHRISTMAS CERTAINLY DOESN'T DESCRIBE IT.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS SEEMS SO SHALLOW.
THIS YEAR, CHRISTMAS IS SO MUCH MORE ABOUT ANGELS
SINGING GLORY TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST.

WE KNOW A NEW MEMBER IN THE CHOIR.

THIS YEAR CHRISTMAS IS MORE ABOUT A CHILD THAT WAS BORN.
THROUGH THAT CHILD, HOPE WAS BORN.

WHERE WOULD WE BE WITHOUT THAT HOPE?

NO, CHRISTMAS ISN'T ABOUT THE WORLD THIS YEAR.
IT'S A CHRISTMAS WHERE WE'RE FOCUSED ON HEAVEN.

A PLACE THAT SHINES WITH THE GLORY OF GOD.

A PLACE WHERE WE WILL NEVER HAVE TO EXPERIENCE
DARKNESS AGAIN.

A PLACE WITH NO MORE TEARS, NO MORE PAIN.
A PLACE FILLED WITH PRECIOUS THINGS. EMILY IS THERE.

THIS CHRISTMAS IS ABOUT FAMILY AND FRIENDS AND
MEMORIES WE HOLD CLOSE.

THIS CHRISTMAS IS ABOUT LOVING AND APPRECIATING EACH
OTHER MORE THAN EVER BEFORE.

WILL WE ALL BE HERE NEXT CHRISTMAS?

IT'S A DIFFERENT KIND OF CHRISTMAS THIS YEAR.

NO, IT'S NOT ABOUT THE PRESENTS. BUT IT IS ABOUT GIFTS.

THE GIFT OF LIFE.......EMILY'S LIFE.

AND THE GIFT OF A BABY BORN 2000 YEARS AGO.

So this Christmas, it is our prayer that you remEMber the gifts.

The gift of Em.... and all that she is to each of us.

The gift of life....it is so fragile...handle it with care.

The gift of friends and family.....you are that to us and we love you,
we only hope you know how much.

The gift of Hope.....we don't know how you survive without it.

And the gift of Christ.....because of Him we can look forward to
Heaven with Him and that glorious reunion that will take place
with our loved ones that have gone before us.

Merry CHRISTmas!
